Blue Screen of Death

Post by w_michael »

My multi-player games have been crashing during a turn for a few months now. Sometimes it is in the replay, and sometimes it is during my move. The game will just just hang and then eventually I will get a Windows blue screen with the error "Machine Exception Code". My system then reboots.

I reboot my computer before playing a turn, but this doesn't seem to make a difference. Today, for instance, I loaded the oldest of the matched pair and it dies during my turn. After the reboot, I tried the newer game and it died during the replay. After that reboot, I tried the older games again and it went smoothly, as did the newer game right after that.

This also happens when I am playing a solitaire campaign, but I can revert to an autosave. I do no have this problem with any other game, solitaire or multiplayer. I don't want my opponent (a close friend) to think that I am cheating, and I would never consider joining an open tournament at this time for the same reason.
