hull modding

I tried to mod ship hulls (as other have done in mods) with Polaris Sector V1.05b, but the game cashes always, if I try it.
It seems I make something wrong.

Handling:
PolarisSector.exe -extract all
PolarisSector.exe -design

I can then switch to different races and change the equipment, but if I try to add or remove a pixel, the game crashes.

With shift + mouth-click I tried to place a cell.
With ctrl + mouth-click I tried to remove a cell.

How is the correct handling?

Hint: The "normal" game works good at my place, even after I extract all (OK, the start-picture has disappeared and it seems the game is a bit slower now, but I assume this is normal).

Hi!

Did you switch to the editing of a specific design first? Or tried to change cells on a general design image?

Did you switch to the cells editing mode?

Hi!

Did you switch to the editing of a specific design first? Or tried to change cells on a general design image?

Did you switch to the cells editing mode?
I select a race, then an existing hull; then I try to add or remove a pixcel (for drives/wepons or general).
In this way I get always a crash.

I've only done the described handling.
How is the correct way to 'switch to the cell editing mode'?

You need to do this:
1. Select a race
2. Select a hull
3. Create new 'design' of this hull (give it any name)
4. Press 'C' to enter the cells editing mode
5. Edit cells
6. Press 'S' to save new cells config

I will also check why it crashes - it should not.
