Final taste

After 2 months of spending every gaming hour playing the betas, I concluded in this odd: In the beginning of the campaigns, there is a lot of interest as there is no XP, funds are limited, units are equal etc... As the campaign reaches the middle 41-43s, there is the greatest feeling for the player ...

No, the air units which are there are not destroy, but it would be nice if this could be somehow simulated - maybe in an add-on or something - because most of the polish and russian airforce were destroyed while they were still grounded. If I remember right, there was something like landed aircraft...

I can understand and agree on these thoughts. Anyway, I guess my point is that rather than the old PG where stukas and tanks ruled, it's all about artillery now. ...I do like the game, just think some tweaking is still in order It is a fact that artillery is overrated. Still it is a fact that in war...

the Jadgpanther and the Jadgtiger should be better than the Elefant. The Elefant was a mechanical disaster, considered a failure. The speed of the Elfant should be 3. I agree on that. I am not conserned on quantifying "better" but something must change here. Think, Elephants appeear in th...

I do remember recon leaders being able to activate an action which gave a BONUS to artillery hitting units within sight in PG-III
hmm, a new motive to buy a recon? I 'd like that!

thanks Obsolete. That makes sense for (a). Initiative considers the defender's terrain and affects both attacker and defender regarding their types seperatelly.

combat detail log: explanation?

Can someone please explain to me how Initiative, effective attack vs defence, miss statistics and dice rolls work? For example I had a 43 grenadier (13) VS IS-2 (7). Effective initiative 3 vs 2 effective attackVsDefence 10 vs 8 effective defenceVsattack 11 vs 14 -------- unsuppressed str=13 unsuppre...

In my opinion, that's a player error and it's his responsibility to check for this kind of things. If he misses he naturally is punished. I see it has being part of the game. I totally disagree on this thought. The game should punish bad strategy, not forgetting. The UI should assist the user on th...

By the way, so far there is a game message on end turn to notify the player that not all units have moved. Would it be much better if this message is modified to notify the player if an air unit that is not refueling has not moved? Forgetting a ground unit does not cost the same as forgetting an air...

Air units out of fuel-oops

I bet everyone has lost an air unit because he has not calculated correctly (or forgotten) the remaining fuel according to its distance from an airfield. It really hurts... Ofcourse there are red dots to mark a "ring of death" in the particular air unit movement. What about to create a sec...

Artillery effectiveness vs distance

I am sorry if this has been discussed in some previous topic but I couldn't find any related to this.

Is there any possibility to catch the degrading effectiveness (accuracy) of artillery towards distance from the target?

I find that the AD units are not really effective at all. With a range of 3, they still will not cover out to the 3 hex range. Mechanized AD units also only cover to a range of one hex. I liked PG2 better- AD units shot at everything that attacked a ground target within their range. That does not h...

unit & city colors in minimap & strategic view.

So far Axis forces are represented with grey and both Allies and Soviets are represented with green. Would it be nice if Soviets are represented with red color?

I would agree with any restriction policy, as far as it affects both sides. This means changing the Allied army composition in the late scenarios. I hope this is applicable at this stage.

I think once the first version is out we can do another pass on the AI but I think it plays a reasonable game. Yes it does, concerning the tactical AI. The purchase logic although seems static (and fully predictable if you replay the scenario), especially the pattern ("buy as many as best tank...

I totally disagree - air defence units were never used to defend against ground attacks by choice. They were used because they were "there" and sometimes were effective - the 88mm Flak is the best example. A general woudl never have deliberately chosen to put Air defence out as his first ...

If you destroy a unit would you not expect the opportunity to exploit this destruction by moving into the vacated space, this is particularily pertinent to cities where you could put considerable effort into taking a city only to have an adjacent enemy move in in their turn. As I understand, this h...
