That's the question you always have to ask yourself against him. My guess is that if you push too far east in the center or south you will find out the hard way.hue wrote:Still the question is: where is the mighty Red Army hiding, where is Morris setting up the trap ... ?

Re: Turn 40 | Oktober '41
@richard & durk: I will not take Ireland: they have quite a strong army (5 or 6 10-step GARs), I prefer to prepare for a possible landing there different ;) Good call. Ireland is also not worth any PPs. If the Allies want to land there, you will get all of those free garrisons for defense. Over...

Re: Morris Axis vs Kragdob Allies
This looks like France all over again. Kudos to Morris for a good counter! I think the Russians need at least some tanks. Russian tanks are good for destroying German tanks after air bombardment. Many Russian players use their tanks as their primary anti-tank weapon against Germany. Without tanks, t...

Re: Morris Axis vs Kragdob Allies
Well, I think that puts the final nails in the Axis coffin. Morris will fight bravely, but without Italy the Germans have little chance to last until 1945. It's unfortunate that Italy surrendered as a result of para landings. I like the 5-city requirement, but it seems like that rail hub is too easy...

Re: Morris Axis vs Kragdob Allies
I think Morris has played the past few game months very well. I agree with the decision to leave Brest alone, and instead attack the Allies in Southern France and bring some heavies back to Germany for defense against the USSR. Now he needs to see how strong the Russians are. It looks like Kragdob's...

Re: Morris Axis vs Kragdob Allies
I although Morris has lost some heavy units, I am thinking a few are missing I would guess an attempt at a crushing summer attack in the west by the Axis That is a nice strategy. You can make a huge attack in February-April, crush the Allies, and then get the bulk of your heavy/air units back to th...

Re: Hü (Axis) vs Morris (Allies)
The French don't get any garrisons in North Africa until either Paris falls or Italy enters the war. His transport will definitely reach Casablanca before either of those things happens. So I think it is a good gamble. At worse he loses 23 PPs, and at best he makes Spanish entry into the war much ea...

Re: poll - more random political events?
There's a 2-to-1 majority in favour of this: why aren't we seeing any response from the people doing the mod? If you just don't want to do it, please at least say so! :) I've never been one of the people who actually does the modding, but I think I know why the modders are apparently not working on...

Re: why antwerp is a fortress and stalingrad not ?
The Germans actually managed to occupy most of Stalingrad during the battle. They definitely would have captured it fully if not for outside help. The problem for them was that the Soviets launched Operation Uranus and completely cut off the German 6th army, trapping it inside the ruined city. So to...

Re: Increase German PPs income
I don't consider GS to have a major balance problem. As the creators have been saying for years, it is harder to play as the Axis. It is easier to lose as the Axis if you make a mistake. But in my experience I am able to win or lose on both sides depending on how well I play, not on which side I pla...

Re: Dynamic fuel consumption?
I don't know about you guys, but I seldom move just 1 or 2 hexes with an armour unit. This would take a lot of research to figure out how to change Axis starting oil to not mess with game balance. And you would also have to factor in the weather, since it should take a tank full oil to move 2 hexes ...

Re: Not to allow air units to be railed
Air units have been able to rail since vanilla. Why change it now? If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I think you open up a whole can of worms here if you change this. You have to play with Axis oil production and if you extend air movement then you have to deal with unintended consequences, i.e. peop...

Re: Morris Axis vs Kragdob Allies
I like the Russian player's attack at the Axis weak point. He has already forced the commitment of some heavy troops that I'm sure Morris wanted in the east instead. The trick is to not push too far and get caught. Losing guard mechs this early is very bad. It still looks like Morris has the advanta...

The results probably wouldn't be that great because they're Italian, and then the RAF would probably hurt him too.Cybvep wrote:Maybe you could score some hits on these BBs with your subs?

Re: Alex Axis vs Morris Allies 1941 scenario
What I'm taking away from this so far is that invading Greece in a 1941 game is a bad idea. With the late Barbarossa it's not so bad, but the British can really screw with Axis plans for May or June.

Re: Morris Axis vs Kragdob Allies
Whether Morris wins big or loses big, we are seeing something new here once again. This looks like Morris's old Axis strategy resurrected, to me. The key for Kragdob will be to either lose a lot of territory OR a lot of units. He can't afford both. If the USSR is going to sacrifice a lot of units i...

Re: Morris Axis vs Kragdob Allies
It looks like most of the inital Russian mechs will survive, so at least Kragdob won't have to rebuild them. He can build solely defensive units for the remainder of the summer, maybe building some new offensive units right before winter. Still, it looks like the Russians are in for a tough fight. I...

Re: Morris Axis vs Kragdob Allies
That's a little careless of the UK player. Nice job taking advantage. If you rush in some German reinforcements, you may be able to wipe out the whole 8th Army.

"uber" in this context means huge or extra powerful. With a full year and a half to build up, it really should be uber!Morris wrote:maybe & with some other interesting actionCybvep wrote:The Balkans + the uber Barbarossa, then?BTW , what kind of Babarosa is called uber ?
