GentlemanRanker’s Tang with Uyghur(Gaochang) allies defeated ahuyton’s Zhou with Uyghur(Gaochang) allies by 60 to 39.
The scores advance neck-and-neck until the last third of the game, with both left wings collapsing under sustained cavalry pressure. The deciding factor proved to be the greater availability of cheap Tang horse archers to wrap around behind the Zhou line and flank, afforded by not taking the elite Yabing at 96 points. The fickle Uyghur warbands proved to be just as brittle in combat as their European counterparts …
A fun game against a wily opponent, thank you Alan!
Congratulations Nick on your 1st place position. Commiserations Alan...better luck in the next round
PeterThePainter's Han and Turkish Allies have defeated Grahamed 's Zhou and Turkish Allies 55 -63.
A battle of mutually assured destruction. The larger Zhou army probed with lights on the flanks annoying the Han cavalry. In the meantime the Han infantry hesitated attacking the Zhou infantry camped in a stream in the centre of the battlefield. Eventually the Han decided getting their feet wet was better than being shot with arrows and crossbow bolts and waded in. Whilst the Zhou cavalry set up a number of skilful flank attacks the Han infantry just set about bludgeoning the Zhou infantry.
Eventually the armies swapped positions and the Han realised they had been suckered we were standing in the stream!
Well played grahamed.

Please refer to the 2nd round order for choosing armies on the table in the previous posting 24 Feb 2024). It seems that Brian's game will not result in a bigger difference than Nicks +21. So,...
Nick (GentlemanRanker) becomes Song 1005-1046AD.
Gavin (GDod) 2nd and will take Korean 936-1046AD
More than likely, lascar will be the next to choose.

I'll take Guiyi with Khitan allies. Thanks.
Peter you're up next (Although, if Brian or the Baron's difference is greater or equal to 8 then you'll have to reconsider... if the winner chooses your list)

Gavin, given the dearth of pointy-stick options amongst the potential allies of the Song, I will put my faith in Uyghur (GaoChang) as allies. Thank you!
